With the latest hikes in utility bills crippling homeowners, people are now looking at ways to reduce their monthly outgoings. With the Government also trying to reduce the carbon emissions that people spill out into the atmosphere, the Government has imposed a tariff made payable by the utility companies called the Feed-in-Tariffs. These tariffs are for wind generators and solar panels, if you have any of these installed at your property you will get a payment for the energy that you produce.

It is now becoming clear that action needs to be taken to help combat the earths dwindling energy reserves. However the answer is so simple and is staring us in the face. We must now wake up and realise that solar panels is the answer to harnessing the suns power and making it work for us and now there is an initiative in place that makes it so easy and straight forward to benefit immediately.

Following the introduction of the Clean Energy Cash Back Scheme introduced here in the UK in April 2010, landlords are now having solar panels installed on their rental properties and also on their own private homes making the most of this new renewable incentive. With the money they make from the electricity tariffs this is topping up their rental income. With the feed in tariffs now in full swing landlords have now a new source of income to supplement their rental income. The easiest of all is to switch off lights when you are not in the room. By switching off computers will also save a lot of energy, just the computer fan alone uses around 300 watts which is equivalent to having on 15 low energy light bulbs. Change all your light bulbs to CFL (low energy bulbs).

Experts are saying that Africa as a country will need to drill up to a million boreholes to supply them with enough safe and clean drinking water over the next ten years. Estimates for Ethiopia by itself has been said to need 80,000 boreholes for water wells. This amount of well drilling will supply the country with safe clean drinking water.
