Why Do Dogs Attack - Are Dogs Dangerous by Nature? Dogs are the sweetest creatures. These animals have lived side by side with humans and have served and proven their loyalty to mankind. We do love our dogs, but these loving and gentle animals also attack. Statistics tell us that 4.7 million Americans are bitten by dogs annually. Some breeds of dogs are trained to attack on command. These dogs are then trained guard dogs and dogs utilized by the police force. However, it is not uncommon for a pet to attack passers by, to suddenly lunge at the meter reader or the postman. Good natured family pets have even attacked members of the family. [VIEW ARTICLE]Comments RSS Feed For This Article: |

Subject: Why do other dogs want to attack my dog?
I live in a high rise and on my floor are two huge great danes. Twice now they have lunged at my dog and I. The owner does not take it seriously. The last episode he said" I do not want any trouble they only lunged at you!" I am terrified of these animals especially since the owner cannot control them. I do not want to call animal control but I fear for my safety and the safety of my dog who is shy and would not hurt a fly. What can I do to ensure we will not be attacked. Last encounter was in the elevator and they would not let us out. Once we were out they pulled the owner along as they came after us. All I could do was run to my apartment in fear. Any suggestions?
