I do agree that Clapton and Allman are two of the greatest guitarists ever but you should also give a listen to the late great Rory Gallagher if you're looking for one of the greatest. When asked once how it felt to be the greatest guitar player in the world Jimi Hendrix answered "I don't know, ask Rory Gallagher.
