What Makes An Expert Author An Expert? Let's just cut through this foolishness, shall we? More than one Ezine site bestows "Expert Author" status on people who inscribe a total of fifteen articles, or less. That's just plain silly. At what, are these purported experts, expert? For instance, I perused one fellow's postings and he writes on such diverse topics as marriage and luggage. Unless you're planning on killing your mate and stuffing him or her in a steamer trunk, what's the connection? [VIEW ARTICLE]Comments RSS Feed For This Article: |

Subject: Expert Authors
I read your article about "expert authors" and got a good chuckle out of it. I think you hit the nail on the head in many cases. I generally don't take the time to read the author's bio after reading an article. This is just a matter of preference as I feel if the information makes good sense, I am not that concerned about who the person is that wrote it. However, I had to laugh because when I first started writing articles, and I have only authored a few myself here at Ezine Articles, I found myself writing my bio so that it either left certain information out or was written one-sided to lend credibility to my article. As I mentioned, I am relatively new to article writing on the internet and I am of the opinion to earn the "expert author" title, certain criteria should be met and confirmed.
Otherwise, another title status should be made available for those that might not be an expert but maybe genuinely knowledgeable or passionate about a topic and has done their homework. In addition, flat out lying about your background should not be tolerated but I guess it would be difficult to police this requirement. I hope this comment is taken as constructive to other authors writing articles and not as a critic. I thought the article was well written and truthful so thank you for pointing this out! Hopefully others will think twice when they write their bio for their articles.
