When you are trying to determine the true cost for installing hardwood floors there are several things you need to look at. First of all you can head into any hardware store and ask the cost of their hardwood flooring material.

Screws are rarely used to install hardwood floors. Special staples or nails are used for solid hardwood. Glue is usually used for engineered wood floors.

Tongue and groove does not mean it is prefinished. tongue and groove can be prefinished or unfinished. And almost all hardwood flooring is tongue and groove.

Wood floor installation is figured by the square foot not by the hour. There may be someone somewhere who figures it by the hour, but it is typically not done. prepping and furniture removal are hourly, not installation.

I am a professional installer, and I can tell you this guy knows nothing! He should not have written this article. There are plenty of good articles on this subject on the web, but this isn't one of them.
