Subject: Vail 2000 enclosed bed

We acquired a Vail 2000 Enclosed Bed in 1997, when our severely autistic child was 5 years old. It allowed us to put him to bed and know that he was safe at night, and not wandering around the house. It helped us to establish a bedtime routine that worked, and he felt safe, secure, and much less anxious as a result. Our son still uses this bed, and it has been an ABSOLUTE GODSEND. We were sickened when we heard that Vail was forced to go out of business, as this bed was the only answer for families like ours. The bed is perfectly safe when used according to Vail's directions. Now I see that there is something called a Posey Enclosed Bed on the market, which shares many similarities with the Vail bed. How long will it be before the FDA forces the company to quit making this bed, too?

Agreed. Without the Vail 2000 bed, my son would not have been able to stay at home and he used it until his recent passing. We too were sickened when we heard that Vail was forced to go out of business. Used as directed and with common sense, the bed posed no concerns.

Subject: we need ours fixed

We got a Vail bed for our Mentally & Medically challenged Granddaughter. The zipper went bad on the one side and we called Vail an they sent someone out to to get the needed information but before they could fix it the Government put them out of business. We turned the bed around and continued to use it. Now the zipper is going on that side and we don't know where or how to get it fixed.

Subject: Zipper Repair

I haven't had to have it done but a tailor or seemstress should be able to repair the zipper or assemble a viable repair (depends on how bad and where it is broken.) Meanwhile, can you clip it shut and use the head or foot for access?

Hope you find a solution
