The Chore Controversy
By Guerrelyne Gautreau

Many women who work outside the home and are still forced to continue taking care of all the household duties. Women who work still do more chores than the men. Husbands, however, are reported to share an insignificant load of the household chores; whether their wives worked or not - a conclusion that is not quite up to the desired contribution sought by working wives or stay at home moms. These disparities have a great impact on the wife.

Subject: Men should do more housework and women also need to change their mindset.

Nice article, Guerrelyne. I am a man and I proudly say that I love to do all housework. To be honest, I think, housework (especially cleaning) is more suitable for men than women. Men should do all labour oriented housework such as cleaning, vacuuming/scrubbing floors, dusting, laundry-ironing etc. If wife is cooking, it should be husband's duty to do all dishes and clean the kitchen completely afterward without being told.

BUT, women also need to change their attitude. When I tell women/girls, that I love to do all housework, women/girls literally laugh at me thinking that I am womanish or feminine.

Before marriage, every girl wants to marry a TALL and RICH guy...how many girls want to marry a guy who likes to do housework? How many girls, before marriage ask a guy, whether he would do housework after marriage? When I proposed a girl first time and said, "I like to do all housework and I am ready to do as much housework as I can, so that it would be good for you to do your career and enjoy your life"...the girl stared at me with a funny look and rejected me immediately.
