Tales of an Ancient Empire It very well might have been 1982 in my living room that evening. Candles radiated a warm and comforting glow that lent a little mystery and magic to my ordinary domicile as the incense sparked to life and I slid the movie into the DVD player. Could it be, after all these years, the miracle that was Netflix has brought home to me one of my most cherished childhood experiences? [VIEW ARTICLE]Comments RSS Feed For This Article: 2
Subject: Tales finally comes Like yourself, I was jazzed at the news that the long awaited sequel was finally coming to fruition. I was a newly one of the army of people that went to see the first movie, and it was at the height of the AD&D craze sweeping the nation. This film inspired many a long weekend of marathon gaming sessions, and imaginative adventures on the part of myself and fellow gamers. This new film is definitely going to bring back memories, and my own sons are excited to see it too. We have played quite a few games ourselves, and look forward to seeing this movie together. :) Comment provided October 5, 2009 at 4:35 pm

Subject: No such thing as a coincidence
Hello! I was stunned to see your article. For some strange reason I was just recently thinking of the same movie I really enjoyed as a young guy. But darn I could not remember the movie’s name or even the lead actor’s name. I remembered the main actor was also in a television series with the name Matt. But once again I could not remember the title of the show. I actually had to go through wiki lists of TV shows in the 70’s and 80’s until I saw Matt Houston. With that I could look up Lee Horsley and eventually get to The Sword and the Sorcerer. Unfortunately Netflix didn’t have the DVD available so I actually bought an old VCR copy and watched it again – after all these years. It made me happy which is not a word I use often or loosely. At the end of the film I saw the promo for a sequel. But I didn’t think I would have missed it if it had been done back in the day. So I looked it up like you and read your article. You made me happy again. It’s a strange world. Thank you for your article. Please know that you’re in my prayers.
