At last! A knowledgeable account of the Spanish Healthcare system. Too many ex-pats take poor advice and find themselves in trouble. The tips from Nick Snelling are very sound. My top tips for ex-pats: 1) Obtain residency 2) Register for Spanish taxation 3) Register for your first 2 years free healthcare at your local Centro de Salud. The emergency treatment here is second to none. I speak from personal experience! Finally don't take short cuts with the Spanish bureaucracy.....they ALWAYS win!
