Setting Bowling Alley Pins in the 50's

Before the days of automatic pin setters in bowling alleys, they used a rack that one could throw the pins into, then push a lever down to set the pins in the correct position. This provided a good job for young men that liked a little excitement.

I still vaguely remember the days before auto pin setters. I enjoyed this article about the now obsolete "career" of the pin setters. I also liked the part about the drive in movies and the junk cars crashing - that was entertainment in the 50's. Great times.
