School Is Too Competitive
By Basil Ace

Everyone wants to graduate the top of their class, valedictorian, with a 5.0 GPA, etc, but what does it all really mean and how do you get there? Well for starters, this is not for everyone, and if you are chasing after a school title, it is a lot of hard work. What does one of these titles get you? - honestly, not much for the work involved.

Basil, I saw your article as I was submitting one of mine. From a person who graduated from a great University years ago, married to a PhD/ scientist...I can attest to the fact that those GPA's greater than a 3.8 aren't worth it....same with a school's title. Unless you want to teach at a top school, most employers don't care if you graduated from Harvard or NC State University...it is the creativity, productivity and teamwork that count. Good Luck!
