Recovering You Usually after a group session, the one thing I kept hearing over and over from clients was questioning what they should do with their lives after they stopped using drugs and alcohol. I realized my clients' addiction problems began with uncomfortable emotions and thoughts; the clients used alcohol, drug, or problematic behaviors in order to disconnect from those uncomfortable emotions and thoughts. With each disconnection, the client moved further and further from whom they once were. I found an effective, long-term tool that filled the the missing piece in traditional addictions therapy.
