I'm sorry----and I'm in the same boat! My daughter just starting playing on a slightly more competitive soccer team. She's substantially younger (two years) than the other kids she plays with and is occasionally tentative out on the field, depending on the day. So I'm not thinking that she's going to be one of those players that should be out there the entire game but was hoping for some playing time. After talking to the coach at the beginning of the season and being reassured that he thought she was skilled enough to be on the team, I kept her there only to get more and more frustrated as the season progressed. Boy was I mad today! After watching her playing time slip the last few games, I had to watch as her coach left her out for almost all of the game and then made a big announcement that that every player except my daughter was going to be on an All-Star team. I wasn't expecting her to be an All-star but I did think the playing time should be more equitable and that those sorts of announcements didn't need to be made for everyone. Grr
