Pet Dander, Asthma, and Air Purifiers How many times have you heard that if you have asthma, or someone in your household has asthma, you can't have a pet. I have always heard this and it seems so unfair to all the kids out there. When my son was diagnosed with asthma, I was told by the doctor that we had to remove our pets from the house. Subject: Asthma and Air Purifiers
Installing air purifiers in your home to remove pollen, dust, and pet dander is an excellent idea. It is important to have an air purifier that has a light that comes on when it it time to change the filters. The change filter light on the air purifier I have in our bedroom comes on about every three months so I know it is time to change the filter. I am amazed how much dust, dirt, and pollen is trapped by the prefilter. The air purifier I use also has a hepa filter and that light comes on every 6 mo. letting us know it's time to change it. We run the air purifier continuously 24hrs a day - 7 days a week. If you have allergies or asthma you should have an air purifier in your bedroom and your living room.
