New Zealand Immigration - Are We Coming Or Going?

New immigration figures came out at the start of 2009 - which sort of tells us how many people immigrate to New Zealand, versus how many people leave and go somewhere else (usually Australia). According to the National Business Review, it's not good news for New Zealand, with the exodus to Australia continuing.

Ha! So for all the difficulties that NZIS put in the way, they couldn't actually claim to be doing a good job with very low net migration. This is really interesting, and thanks for writing about it. Good to know. It shows NZ really does still need skilled migrants, no matter how difficult NZIS may make things.
