Subject: Important Question Concerning Your Article
Dear Sir, In paragraph three of your article you say that if a Solicitor drafts your will he/she should not be a witness and that there should be two independent witnesses - is this correct by law? My wife's Uncle passed away recently and his will was "hand-written" by the Solicitor. He witnessed it along with a lady from the office. I have spoken to several Solicitors and they contend that you are wrong and that the Solicitor who drafted the will hand-written or otherwise can be one of the two witnesses. I would be obliged if you would clarify this point as it may well be crucial for us?
