I spilled kool aid on the carpet two days before resigning the lease (with inspection) on our house. I tried all the cleaners, but some kool aid always stuck around. This method destroyed the red stain in my carpet. I love this, thanks so much!

It worked immediately! I was troubled after having found a huge red punch stain on my carpet. My son had unsuccessfully tried to hide it. The spill had dried and the carpet had been ruined...so I thought. This inexpensive (water and my iron) technique worked like a charm; the stain is gone!!! I'm happy and my son is relieved.

Thanks for the helpful hint.

I have a light tan carpet and my son spilled the poder to a punch mix on it. I vacuumed it up thinking that woudl be the end of that but then it was still red. so i thought that if i applied cold water and wicked it up it would not seal into the carpet.. YEAH RIGHT.. i tried foams on the red spot, all sorts of store cleaners, color safe bleach and so on. then when i went to rinse it the water in the dump tank of my spot cleaner ran clear! this means it was really in there now. i tried the dawn and the iron and followed the instructions and i was amazed when the rag turned pink! this means it is working! i am so excited!

I tried everything on my carpet. I was certain it would need to be replaced, however I tried the iron method and stains were instantly gone. I am so excited, though red koolaid is still banned from the house. Thank you for saving me a lot of money!

I tried that to, but it didn't work. I poured straight bleach on my tan carpet and got it out but the had big white spots instead.....i bought a rubbed in light brown shoe polish with a washcloth and it almost matched the color,. you don't notice unless you really look. with any luck the shoe polish sticks as good as kool aid...

I have 3 big set in kool aid stains in my carpet at home. one in each room!!I had my carpets cleaned this past saturday and the stains don't even look lighter. I am very anxious to get home tonight and test this method. I was skeptical at first until I started reading everyone's testimony. I am now a believer and will be hoping for the best. I'll keep everyone posted!!!

Thank you!!! Yes, it works. I wasn't too worried when I saw the multiple red fruit punch stains on my carpet upstairs because I have a product which I have used for years which has always gotten everything out (even 2 year old red nail polish) of my carpets. But NOTHING worked on the red fruit punch stains until I tried the iron technique. Thank you!!!

Thank you SO much! I had a HUGE Crystal Light (red) stain on my carpet from my kids and it is ALL gone now. A little tip, be patient, do NOT life the iron for awhile, I was antsy so I kept picking it up. This works beautifully if you just leave the iron alone in 15 minute increments! I thought I was going to have to pay for my carpet to be replaced, I can't thank you enough!

I've been trying to get out a red Gatorade stain for the past few weeks, I have tried EVERYTHING from Spot Shot to Oxy Clean and even the infamous Folex...none of it worked. I tried this and it removed the stain immediately!

I cannot believe this worked but it did!!! Took 2 week old red Kool aid stains out of my cheap apartment carpet. Each spot took 2 sessions of 15 minutes, so it was time consuming but at least I will get my deposit back. The kids will be drinking Kool aid outside from now on! Who puts carpet in a dining room anyway?

PS. I used Palmolive and it worked just as well!

My daughter spilled red kool-aid on beige carpet and I tried baking soda, white vinegar, peroxide, Red Erase, clear laundry detergent, salt, steam cleaning, and nothing worked. It lightened the stain, but it was still very noticeable. I used the dishwashing liquid/iron/white towel method and the stain started lifting almost immediately after 8 months of being on the carpet! I am TOTALLY impressed. Now my landlord won't be coming after me for damaged carpet when I move. Thanks for such a wonderful tip!

After spending $28 on products specifically designed & marketed to remove Kool-Aid with absolutely no results, & being told by a few professionals that they could TRY to get it all out for $75, I was desperate. Then I called a Core cleaning product distributor, & instead of selling me another product I'd found online this guy told me he didn't want to see me keep wasting my money. He told me to Google Kool aid removal. I did. Thanks so much Rob & Steven.

After my toddler knocked over a glass of red kool-aid and trying several carpet cleaners and steam vac, I Googled kool aid and carpet stains. I then tried the dawn and iron method numerous times over the last few days, but have not had any luck. By the time I did try this the stain was very light, but still hoped it would have gotten it up. Any ideas??

Thank You! Thank you! Thank You!

You have no idea how much this helped! My friend and I were on a month long road trip around the country, and with one week left before returning the car, he wasted almost a GALLON of red juice on the passenger side. I walked into Wal-mart and bought $30 worth of chemicals and scrubs and nothing worked. When I search for stain removal on Google this post came up. I tried it, and even though it took several hours, and a crap load of steam and boiling water in the hottest city in the country (Houston), we were able to get ALL the red out, and the car rental never noticed!

So once again, a very hearty, $300 THANK YOU!

Lisa, I would recommend turning the heat up on the iron. In my car incident we had the iron on full blast. And leave it there for at least 30 secs at a time, but keep picking it up and putting it back down. It should eventually come up.

Also, make sure the cloth is soaked in the water.

Absolutely amazing! The stain was a few weeks old. I used Dawn and the warm iron and most of it came out. I then poured Nature's Miracle (enzyme cleaner available from pet stores)on the stain, covered it with a white cloth and warm iron and the rest came out!

Fantastic!!!! I did not believe it when I read it because it seemed too simple. It worked like a miracle. Our landlord wanted to charge us $900 dollars because our two year old spilled juice. She will not be getting $900 from us now!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
