Mr. Cuthill adeptly points out the way to deter Ponzi schemes. Equally as important, what is needed is the will of regulatory agencies to intercept schemes before they reach fruition or collapse. One wonders why the SEC was so tonedeaf as to not recognize the need to go full bore after they received the first few complaints. Hopefully, public advocates like Mr. Cuthill will continue to shine light on the lack of timeliness and other inadequacies of regulatory responses to fraud.
