How to Handle Phone Harassment

We cannot live without the phone because this is the most effective and easiest means of communication. Unfortunately there are some people who use the phone to harass other people for various offensive reasons. If you are a victim of this harassment you need to know how to handle phone harassment and secure your safety and privacy.

Thanks for an interesting article.

I'm a little wary about the advice to use a horn-blast over the phone.

I don't know the legal ramifications of this, but if you damage their ears, even if they were calling with threats, and theoretically they are kind of in your home, still they might be able to turn around and sue you for bodily harm.

Maybe they keep a recording of their 'prank' calls too.

It reminds me of stories about criminals being harmed in the process of breaking and entering a private residence. Then the home owner ends up in jail or being sued for egregious harm.

Some aspects of law need to be included in this article, and the fact that laws vary from state to state as touching something as aggressive as potentially injuring another as the horn-blast.
