How to Get Rid of Maggots Before you can get rid of maggot you must first know what they look like. Maggots are the larvae of flies. They only appear if a fly is able to lay its eggs they appear 2-5 days after a fly has laid its eggs. The fly will lay its eggs after being drawn to the smell of rotten flesh. I have cleaned everything out from underneath and sprayed bleach everywhere, but as soon as I did that they can from every angle, crack, and crevice. What is my next step?? S. writes:Subject: Woke up with Maggots! (Not just my husband) This morning I woke up and went into the kitchen to make coffee. To my surprise I found maggots all over the floor and in the carpet. I think it's from the ground beef I threw away (unopened) which my husband forgot to take out. I ended up having to squish them one by one the best I could and then mop and shampoo my carpets. I'm still finding them! I'm allergic to bleach or else I would have soaked the whole house in it! I think I got it all but I'm still totally disgusted and I dont know what to do! HELP! I have maggots in my house. They are not bad but even one is disgusting. I don't know where they are coming from and why they are even in my house. Please someone help me get rid of them.
