Subject: Bridging with Laptop

Hendrix it is definately possible to bridge with a laptop. You just have to make sure that you have two ethernet ports. You said your laptop is high quality so you should have one already built in and you can buy another one at your local computer store. Email me if you have any questions BounceItProductions@yahoo.com

Subject: Yes You Need Two Ethernet Ports

You definitely need two ethernet ports one for connetion In from Router/Or Modem and one for Xbox Out you dont need any two special ethernet cards.

And yes you can bridge just modem to computer then to Xbox.

Subject: How 2 bridge with 1 ethernet slot

ok here is what you do if you only have one ethernet plug in your PC.

You need to get a USB-Ethernet converter. put one end of your ethernet cord into your xbox, and at the other end attach the converter. The other end of the converter is a USB plug. Insert it into the USB slot in your computer wherever that may be. You can find one at Best Buy and they are pretty cheap. It has worked for me. Good Luck!

It is very possible to bridge with a labtop that only has one ethernet port.... you need to have a wireless connection to that laptop though... then have a ethernet cord running from the laptop to the xbox then bridge your connections in My Network Places and use those programs... its pretty simple...

Pongie Sniger writes:

Subject: bridge mcafree

a crossover cable is just an internally modified ethernet cable. if you are connecting youre xbox to a router, modem, switch or anything besides another pc, set your ip and dns to automatic. That is the easiest way. also make sure you are using an ethernet cable. The quickest way to tell if you have an ethernet cable or a crossover cable is to look at the ends of the cable. point the tab away from you and hold the two ends side by side. If the colors of the wires inside of the plugs starting from left to right on both pkugs are in the same exact order than that is a normal ethernet cable. If the colors are not in the exact same order on both ends than that is a crossover cable. If you are connecting through a pc make sure you are using a crossover cable(same as a system link cable). If connecting through a pc you must have either 2 ethernet ports, or have 1 iethernet port and a wireless network adapter.
