OR LACK OF. I just had a month of problems and ran up $3,000 worth of bills then found that Medicare was denying paying. Then I find out that although I was in their computers as having A and B and D, that I had NO coverage for the PAST 4 YEARS, and did not know it. Now they want me to pay penalties to enroll in a program I already had, and they, by mistake, took me off-- without my knowledge until this week. The plight of Shannon is one that all Americans face.... that is why we need Socialized Medicine for all who want it, and I think all will want it. It would be a nice accompaniment to our Socialized Mail Delivery System. Shannon should not have suffered. As for me, I will just live without medical coverage (I'm 68) because I have no choice but to lick my wounds since I cannot afford Medicare or private insurance, being on a fixed income. We need to eliminate this financial burden and have a health care system that treats all fairly. Hippocrates would like that.
