When my daughter was young (almost 20 years ago),she was very susceptible to head lice. She has the thickest hair I have ever seen. Normal head lice treatments would not work. Someone gave me an awesome home remedy that worked for her - and it's the only thing that worked. Of course, you have to clean all the bedding, carpets, clothing, coats, etc. But I would poor an equal mixture of white vinegar and rubbing alcohol over her hair and scalp. Then I would saturate a towel in the mixture, and wring it out. Then I would wrap it around her head for about 45 minutes. Afterward, I would comb her hair out thoroughly. It was the only thing that got rid of her head lice.
