Subject: Highly disappointed in GBC C340
We paid just over $500 when we purchased this machine (new) 18 months ago. And I agree wholeheartedly with the limitations outlined in this review. My main aggravation with the machine up until now has been the rotary comb spreader...definitely more time-consuming than the old model. But the entire machine stopped working today, so we called the company. They said it was no longer under warranty (only has a 1 year warranty) and therefore had no service coverage. We were informed that it would cost as much to have someone come out to fix it as it would to just purchase a new one.
This is just downright irresponsible. The instructions with the machine don't even give any indication of how to take it apart to try and determine the problem yourself (if you are unwilling to fork over roughly the price of a new machine just to have this one -- now no longer under warranty -- repaired. We told GBC we would not be purchasing another machine from them in the future.
