Have decided to try to sell our house online after a quote of £10K +VAT from our local agent. Phew! I thought that he got a bit sniffy when we said that we didn`t have a passport (why?) we don`t travel abroad and want to sell our house to downsize, made us feel like criminals? Would appreciate members views/experiences, is it safe etc? KT.

We have all seen a major drop in our homes value. Many home owners myself included don't have the equity position to pay traditional commissions, our firm offers an alternative, listing a home for one flat fee. Sellers need to be on the internet but also need support we offer both. It's been very successful for sellers allowing them to reduce their selling price to sell faster but not lose out on the commission side as well...just a sign of the times.
