Subject: GAO Study confirms the undeniable
As a former US Army officer, it is inconceivable to me that that we would send our young men and women into combat without the best possible body armor and weapons. The damning GAO study confirms what many have been saying for the last several years: our military procurement system is seriously flawed and quite possibly corrupt. There is no more ground to quibble after top military officers defended the integrity of their testing procedures following NBC's investigation some two years ago. At best this is criminal negligence. While we sit around debating the merits of sending more troops to Afghanistan, the least we can do is to make sure that have the right equipment. These brave men and women and their families deserve it. It is time for our military leadership to do the right thing for our troops!
