For many migrants to New Zealand, it is not possible for our parents to emigrate to New Zealand via the Skilled Migrant route, either because they are too old (anything over 55 counts) or because they don't have the kind of skills you need to be a skilled migrant. For this - there is the Family Sponsorship: Parent Category.

Wow - thanks Avalon - all well laid out and made really straight forward. The whole centre of gravity thing does my head in sometimes, half brothers, adopted sisters, the NZIS guidelines are sooo complex - and you've simplified them for a numpty! I agree with the whole thing about needing to have spent a certain amount of time in the country for a number of years. When you read the actual requirements without all the NZIS guff, it's quite simple really. Cheers.
