Email Hoaxes, Urban Legends and Scams - Don't be Part of the Problem

It seems not a day goes by that an email arrives in our inbox after having been forwarded several times warning about or asking for something, and asks us to forward the message on as well. Nine times out of ten these are email hoaxes, scams and urban legends. It's not that difficult to determine if they're legit, but most should simply be ignored. Forwarding to all your friends is typically the exact wrong thing to do.

This problem seemed to me to have died, until the other day when an old friend from my childhood days popped up with a variation involving viruses that (as usual) "destroy your hard drive". So they are NOT dead. Keep up the good work. Alan
