Elective C-Section - Would You Do It?
By Michelle Kennedy Hogan

It's the latest thing. As fashionable as Kabbalah, without all the studying. Madonna did it. So did Elizabeth Hurley. Cesarean section by choice has become almost a fad of sorts. Do Yoga at 8 a.m. Have your baby at 10 a.m. It not only fits your schedule, but your doctors and you get the added benefit of avoiding anything remotely like a labor pain.

Subject: elective c section

I think it is disgusting that people choose elective c section when there isn't a medical need I CANNOT give birth naturally and will be having my 3rd child by c section but i think if there is no other reason for the child to be born by c section other than the mothers whim i think its terrible pregnancy and birth aren't meant to be convenient and i would have loved to have gone all the way with my first born but after full blown contraction but no dilation he had to be c section or he would have died and i am not advised natural birth as an option because the risks of my not dilating is too high. Plus because i suffer from extreme morning sickness my baby this time is being born early at 37 weeks because they are worried if they leave me longer the effects of 37 weeks with little food and iv hydration could become irreversible i hate it it takes half the fun out of not knowing when the baby is going to come and everyone is like oh well it will be here soon what time is it again! its so planned its horrible but i have no choice if i want a healthy baby i can understand planning the date at 41 weeks for nervous mothers so they know that they wont be left or forgotten but just because they heard their favorite star has done it is pathetic! and what does it say about the sort of mum they will be a mum of convenience only there if it suits!
