Subject: acai berry scam ABSOLUTELY thanks a million. I ordered and then went back and reread what I had ordered... They were going to charge me 78.81 for my unused portion. the name of this company is Advanced Wellnes Research product. Fly by night junk... They send you a bottle of 60 tablets and I think that confuses some people... Anyway thanks a BUNCH. I am returning my 32 pills out of a 60 count bottle and they have said they WILL NOT charge me. I am also notifying my bank. Josie Comment provided February 7, 2009 at 12:24 pm

Subject: The free Acai Berry I went onto the website to see about getting a free bottle of Acai Berry and entered all of my information even my Credit Card info then got to reading the small print, I backed out immediately, the Monday following i started getting calls, up to 5 a day I have told them to stop calling me i have received 3 calls today. When you call them you get an automated system and never get through to anyone. I am glad I did not go thru with the transaction. Hope this helps someone else. Nothing is ever FREE with out paying a price! Comment provided February 14, 2009 at 1:34 pm

Subject: Just pay shipping & handling I too fell for this scam. I was charged 87.00 within 2 weeks, another 67.00 for another product and $29 for a membership in something else. I did call each 800/866 number appearing on my bank statement and after much persuasion, use of a firm voice, stating deceptive advertising, was able to get all charges reversed. Your bank won't let you dispute as unauthorized because they know about these sites. However if you get them to commit to issue a refund -follow-up with your bank after 15 business days and they can then dispute for you. Comment provided February 15, 2009 at 6:49 pm

Subject: What do I do now? I ordered the free bottle of Acai Berry pills and gave them my CC number for the shipping. I have not received them yet, but now reading your comments I need to know where to cancel this order. Does anyone have a phone number. I did not write this info down. Stupid I know. Subject: ACAI Berry Scam Unfortunately I did not read your article prior to purchasing the ACAI Berry and Total Cleanse products. I found my bank account had been debited $79.00 for the "free trial" of the product. When I called the company, I was told flat out that they would not refund the money even though I was not able to "try" the product for 14 days - it had only been 10 due to the shipping time. I was told by a representative that I should have called the company to advise them of the delay in shipping. The product was ordered January 31 (a Saturday). I received it February 5! Be aware - the company feels that you are able to TRY the product while it is being shipped. A BIG SCAM!! Comment provided February 16, 2009 at 5:19 pm

Subject: For sure!!!! I learned the hard way! Oh and if you're thinking $24-$30 NOPE more like $80.00. And also pay attention to time period of trial. Mine wasn't 30 day it was just 14 day trial so I got hit twice. Once at the 14 day period and again at the month mark from order placed! Not happy at all!!!! I like the pills well enough but because of SCAM ways I won't take/buy/deal with them! Comment provided February 18, 2009 at 12:56 pm

Subject: I ordered! Hi all I ran across a website and fell for the free bottle. I paid $4.99 for S&H and about 30 days later I was charged $78.00!!! I called the number that showed up on my bank statement and found that it was for the acai berry. I quickly called them and was really upset that I had been charged when the website had Free flashing all over it. The nice customer service rep told me that I had actually signed up for a free trial and since it was past 30 days they were charging me and sending me more bottles. I told her the website did not clearly state that and I did not want to pay for this. She refunded me the money without a hassle. I would say just read carefully and if its a free trial most likely they will continue to charge you monthly and send more bottles so you would have to cancel it. Subject: DO NOT PURCHASE! Hi, I wanted to let everyone know that this is a BIG SCAM she is completely right. DO NOT purchase the product it's a rip-off and it is not worth it! I called to cancel the order and I was charged twice for the product after I called which they would not refund me for. I don't recommend anyone to purchase this product unless you are willing to have $69.95 deducted from your credit card or bank monthly with no refund! Comment provided March 2, 2009 at 12:35 pm

Subject: ripoff Any body that reads this offers for the amount of 4.95 do not believed them the moment they get your credit card you are doom. they have charge twice 79.95 which they returned after a good conversation with them and I thought that I was finish with them and again they did it this time for 89.95. I call them again that they had to return the money after a long conversation they did return the money. I call my bank and explain to them the situation and I was told to cancel the credit card and order another one. this way they do not have access to the account. I never thought that this was going to happen to me but it did. Now I won't trust any more any internet sales. Comment provided March 6, 2009 at 2:38 pm

Subject: Acai Berry Scam The Acai Berry scam not only charge you more without notice, the "products" I received are actually fake! The website offer such fake product is acaiberry4free.com. You can tell it's fake from its packing. There isn't "Made in..." on the bottle either. Such rubbish! Comment provided September 14, 2009 at 8:16 am

Subject: Acai Berry Scam I blew it. I ordered from Acai Berry Tropic and just paid 1.97 postage. The day after I received my 14 day free trial bottle, a debit for 88.64 appeared on my bank account. Upon calling their customer service, i was told that I had to cancel my subscription within 14 day. It actually is the 14th day, so I insisted that they refund my charge and cancel. We'll see what happens. Don't sucker for this one unless you want to pay out for nothing! Comment provided September 16, 2009 at 1:45 pm

Subject: acai berry order I ordered acai berry maximum online for a 15 day free trial. As soon as I learned the 15 day trial included the 7-10 day shipment period I cancelled the offer. I received the trial offer on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. I sent it back, unopened with the return authorization code Tuesday the 8th. They still charged my credit card for the product on the 18th. When I called to complain they said they didn't receive it until the 18th. (yeah, like it really took 10 days to get back to them) These people are criminals, pure and simple. Comment provided September 22, 2009 at 1:21 pm

Subject: Acai berry free trial I also got ripped off. I was supposed to get credit of of $82 after I returned the un-opened product (at my expense, of course). I cancelled 2 weeks after ordering because a friend told me it was a big SCAM but even tho they cancelled it, they still billed me. Then told me I would get credited for the full amount (after I had to call 3 different numbers to cancel various membership fees - all the same company, but they made me jump through hoops to cancel each one with no refund for that either) Now, 4 months later, after telling me I would get the credit & I call back to see what the holdup is, they say they can't credit me because I was over the 30 day return policy --never mind that I had cancelled within 2 weeks! Absolutely a scam and I'm sure they re-sell the product over and over and over. If you want to lose weight, try the low carb diet. I lost 24 pounds in 4 months and have totally changed my eating habits! Comment provided September 22, 2009 at 11:53 pm

Subject: Acai Scam I wish I had read this first! I ordered the "free trail" and got a notice today (Set.25th) saying that as I had not returned the product I was being billed $79.95. I never received the product! When I phoned the woman at the company she told me the 2 week trial starts from the day you order - not when you receive it and there was no way they could verify that I had not received it! I phoned my credit card company and found out that they had made 2 charges on my card - on Sept 20th (one for 6.69 and another for $87.90) both under names that I had never heard of. As soon as I mentioned "ACAI" she laughed and told me they had so many complaints, they couldn't deal with it. I had to cancel my card to avoid further charges. I am not happy!!! Subject: Charges I made a mistake of not reading your blog, but you are absolutely right with the ACAI scam. They pay people to say that their products work and is not so. They should be taken to court for tricking people. Comment provided October 15, 2009 at 1:08 pm

Subject: SCAM!! They advertise a "FREE TRIAL" - all you have to pay is shipping - but what they only tell you in fine print - which would take 8 hours to read (if you can understand it all), is that if you don't return the product and cancel within 15 days, you are then charged the full price for the product AND a membership fee. They wait until after the "free trial" period is over and then they charge you, so that even if you call at that point, you're too late. This is done with full intent to defraud people and is despicable. The bogus company I dealt with was "CERTIFIED ACAI". They claim that celebrities and well known TV shows endorse ACAI - and maybe they do, but what they IMPLY is that these celebrities and TV shows endorse their company as well - THEY DON'T. DON'T GET RIPPED OFF. DON'T ORDER FROM THEM. Comment provided October 17, 2009 at 9:40 pm

Subject: very costly They say 99 cents and then it's 49.95 per month. OK for that. Then 2 weeks later I get a charge for $84.18 and then another 69 cents. I canceled because it started to add up and then the poor English speaking person kept repeating himself when I asked for a refund. It's a rip-off and I have been very ornery after the 1st week. Subject: acai berry This is a fraud. You get a free sample then without your knowledge they charge 88.64 and 2.64 to your account, try getting it back I've been waiting three weeks, besides the product doesn't work. Its a joke don't buy ever. Comment provided November 3, 2009 at 12:09 pm

Subject: acai berry I ordered the acai berry and colon cleanse (2 separate orders) and then looked up the company it was shipped from. By the time I called my CC company I had been billed close to $400.00. THE ONLY WAY I COULD STOP THIS WAS CANCELING THAT CREDIT CARD AND GETTING A NEW NUMBER. My credit card company (BMO) would not reverse any of the charges. However it was very easy to get a new number (just one phone call to the credit card company. Subject: Acai Free Trial Scam Having a few vanity pounds, I stumbled upon and signed up for an Acai/Colon Cleanse offer which expressed that it was FREE - just pay shipping and handling. Then I read about the scams. So, I contacted the manufacturer and was told that I would be signed up for multiple orders ($39.95). I demanded that they cancel my order and requested a confirmation email to this effect. I shared that if I DID receive future shipments, I would take this email and pass it on to my State Attorney-General. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE! If you were caught in this trap, don't worry - you are definitely NOT alone! Robert J. Comment provided November 11, 2009 at 12:01 pm
