I'm sure your cleaning methods would take care of the glass, but I'm not sure what the polish would do to the lead came. We clean our glass with neutral pH soap (Triton X) and distilled water so not to cause any damage to the lead. And never Windex, too acidic and will lessen the longevity of the lead came.

I am sure your technique works well. You are correct, never use any acidic liquid to clean glass, such as glass cleaner, vinegar, etc. This will damage the came.

The method I use and wrote about are the methods recommended and used by Meyda Tiffany, the oldest and largest manufacturer of stained glass using the copperfoil method. As a matter of fact, this is how they clean their stained glass before shipping.

Thank you for comment.
