Changing Understanding Into Action Taking action toward something requires understanding. You must know what to do and be aware of the action needed to complete the task. If this process is this simple to explain why is this process so difficult to implement. Taking action helps move us toward our goals. Taking action is movement in the direction of fulfilling an objective. Performance and behavior depend on knowledge through experiences, practices and learning. Awareness improves behavior. Why do so many individuals understand the requirements of many goals and objectives, yet take no action toward them. The collective thought process (thinking about the full requirement all at one time) can bring forth fear. Have you ever heard the old saying "How do you eat an elephant?" The answer is one bite at a time. That is true. Taking small steps toward achieving a goal is the best strategy. Let us call these steps "action steps". Thank you Missey for the empowering article. I absolute agree with you. I particularly appreciate the elephant analogy. Elephants,as we all should know, are mammoth, but truly taking one bite at a time, eventually, mission accomplished! Another key ingredient that I would like to point out is focus.
