Credible endorsements are a very effective marketing tool, especially in cyberspace. However, the principle of 'caveat emptor (let the buyer beware)' should still be the main criteria for making the decision to purchase. The simple reason for this is that some alleged endorsements may not be what they seem.

And what in the world would you say if I personally told you that this "chain letter" DOES work, and I have all of the envelopes the $1 bills came in? I have thousands of them. And I have sent out hundreds myself. We may be a "Chain of Fools", be that as it may, but we have a good thing going here. Your hesitation to believe in something does not make it untrue. Granted, it may falsely report having been aired by Oprah Winfrey, but have you asked 20/20?
