Career Colleges - 5 Tips For Making a Difference in the Classroom
By Felecia Sheffield PhD

In 2005-2006 over two million students attended accredited career colleges. Career colleges offer adult students flexible schedules and online courses which benefit many who are simultaneously juggling families and full-time employment in addition to college. Roughly 64% of career college students graduate within three years of enrollment according to the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics. Both administrators and faculty are charged with the education, retention and successful graduation of their students. Below are several helpful tips for making a difference in the classroom.

I think that when you make a person understand something and teach them the true meaning and it´s application of any knowledge, that´s when the real process of learning begins. The teacher turns on, in the student, the sparkle of wanting to learn. That should be the real challenge of a teacher to leave that legacy.

Wow what an helpful article that was. I like everything about this article especially the fact that you mention that teachers should help students sort out their goals. That is so true because I know some kids that go to school just to be there they don't know what they truly want to do. I will recommend this article to anyone who has an interest in education.

Career college seemed the best choice for me. I work and have a family, but wanted to finally start a career I was really interested in, and get motivated to do better. It helps to have good professors who care.
