Business Networking - Do You Meet Quality People? What do you look for when going to a networking event? I mean, what is your goal here? Are you actually expecting to get immediate business from some prospect? Some folks are business card collectors. Others try to talk to everyone within sight and feel like a failure if they happen to miss someone. Yet some others are standing around looking as if they are lost and can't wait to leave. Subject: Networking Events Thank you, Reno! That's exactly what you're supposed to do at a networking event - establish, or begin to establish a relationship. But you can ask pertinent questions upon meeting to help qualify the person to see if they MIGHT be a good prospect for you. I like to think of networking events as an opportunity to establish a relationship. You can seldom tell from a first encounter who will be a good business ally or valuable prospect. But broadening your share of influence by meeting more people is step one.
