Be The Woman on Top
By Bradlley Mckoy

It's not easy being a woman in a man's world, especially when you're building a career in a male-dominated industry. Even with the talk of equality between the sexes, a woman still has to work doubly hard to be respected and accepted in her chosen craft. With the right attitude and a positive outlook, however, this isn't impossible to achieve at all. In fact, it'll only be a matter of time before you find yourself the woman on top.

Subject: Be the woman on top

This article was a good effort - but overall I think it missed the mark.

I agree that overly emotional interaction has no place in the workplace, and an assertive approach is appropriate. However, to think that women are the only ones that need modify their behaviour for a workplace culture that is defined by a "traditional" male approach to business is not the way to go. Women need to help redefine the workplace to make it more effective and welcoming to women. Men need to be amenable to this idea.

Perhaps some change on both sides of the equation would be a more balanced way of looking at this issue?
