I have a jail broken iphone and I use a normal pre - paid sim card. the normal features of the phone obviously still function. Using the wi-fi function I can go to the nearest wi-fi hotspot and send and receive my emails, download maps, download programmes, weather,surf the internet etc.The wi-fi link is incredibly fast. I think a lot of people are scared to buy an iphone because they think they will be stuck with a terribly expensive cell phone internet contract. Don´t be! You don´t need it to enjoy a fabulous phone
