Subject: science fair project for son on robots

Hello! My 10 year old wants to do a science fair project on "can humans be replaced by robots?" We have many ideas but are having a hard time fitting this into the scientific method with manipulated variables and such-any ideas? He wants to get a robot hand kit to demonstrate how it can simulate the abilities of the human hand, but we are still unsure how to fit this into the scientific method? ....any ideas would be helpful! thanks
