A Wine Lover's Weekly Review of $10 Wines - A Chilean Carmeniere

Way back when, the red Carmenere grape was a major player in the vineyards of Bordeaux, France. Between disease and the Phylloxera louse, it virtually disappeared from France but did become Chili's signature grape. The word has it that Carmenere is now making a minor comeback in Bordeaux.

Thanks for the review. The one thing I've found with wine from Chile is that the quality decreases dramatically when you start to get under $20 per bottle. A bad bottle at $10 and I start to wonder who the heck took the time to import it! We can make bad big red wine in the states!
