Subject: Media Bias

I think we might disagree on the bias of the media, but we agree that media bias is a problem.

When I was young, we all agreed that if you listened to Walter Chronkite you were hearing the truth. These days, depending on the "news" program you listen to, you have a different version of the truth. This makes it impossible for a democratic nation to make informed choices.

This puts our nation in danger, don't you agree? Have you got any ideas about how to fix this?

Nancy - Agree that there is a problem in the media and that is where we have a serious crack in the foundation of this Republic. The answer is to have an informed electorate and that is continues to be a challenge especially when young people do not know history; when people do not understand our Constitution e.g. believe we are a democracy when we are a Republic - big difference; when people who challenge the status quo with respect and then identified with some negative term; and truly do not have the higher order thinking skills to make informed decisions. I believe the Internet has helped to better inform people and has provided miss information as well.
