A Little Courtesy is Always Kind There is a wonderful story (or maybe it's just an urban myth) about a woman who was going through the drive-thru at Starbucks in Marysville, Washington. When she got to the window to pay for her beverage, she asked if she could pay for the purchases of the people in the car behind her. The story doesn't include information about what the barista thought of such a request - maybe it's a common occurrence at Starbucks drive-thrus, and no one paid it any attention. Subject: A little Kindness...
Great article and gentle reminder. Someone bought me a coffee this week and made my day. My brother in law, Steve, let someone in a long line at the drive thru when visiting me at my father's farm. He was trying to decide what he could order because he found himself short of cash. When he got to the window, his bill had been paid by the person he let in line. He considered going through again to get the other things he had wanted but couldn't afford and maybe letting someone else in front of him. Every time he visits he wants to go to the drive thru to look for the truck he let in line. I would want to hear the order of the person in front before saying I would pay. Many lessons to learn. Thanks for the inspiration.
