A "Choice" to Quit Drinking Drug addiction and alcohol addiction is not a disease, but a choice. You do not have to be a passive bystander to an imaginary disease of drug addiction or alcohol addiction; give up your will; be labeled as an alcoholic or "in recovery"; or attend meetings and treatment for the rest of your life! Subject: Drinking
Good article. Nice to see that someone else realizes that drinking is not a disease. AA and other such groups are not the answer. I have never attended a meeting, but have heard and read what it is like. Why associate with a bunch of drunks when you are trying to avoid drinking? Much like prison is a training school for criminals, so is AA a school for drunkenness. Everyone is different, and each has the right time and reasons to quit drinking. Some weaker minded individuals will no doubt never quit no matter what, but most anyone can, on their own. The feeling that is impossible can, and will go away with the right mind-set. Thanks again for reassuring me of what I had already discovered.
