20 Tips For Applying For College Scholarships
By Felecia Sheffield PhD

As seniors begin to celebrate their final year in high school, their thoughts quickly race to senior prom, senior pictures and grad night. However, it is just as important that they focus some of their energy into applying for college scholarships. It is estimated that more than 9 million students receive grants or loans from the Department of Education each year. Despite the $83 billion that they will award this year, students and families must look at additional options to help pay for college including scholarships. Below are 20 helpful tips to begin the process.

I found this article to be very informative. Many people with college age kids don't have the first clue on the many options they might have or might not even know how to begin.

I personally found this article as a guideline of what & where to go next. The lack of information is what holds many of us back from getting ahead.

This article is very helpful because its true as seniors we do not see the free money that is out there if I would go back to my senior year I would have tried to get more scholarships.

I believe this is very useful information, alt of us don't know that there is actually free money out there. Hey, a lot of students don't know where to go or what to do after they graduate from high school. Therefore this information is very helpful!

These articles are very helpful because lots of high school graduates or parents don't know about scholarships, how to apply for financial aid, or grants that are available to you especially to students whose parents don't have the finances to pay for college.

These are all good tips for applying for scholarships. You have to show them how much you really want the scholarship.

I wish I would've of read this during my senior year in high school. We do focus so much on the "fun" things that we forget the new life ahead instead of letting the "old" high school years go.

Man I wish I read this article when I was in high school because I would have focused more on trying to get into college & not thinking about prom, grad night & other things. It is also a good article to have around when you have kids, you would know what to tell them & how to help them in this situation.

Subject: Preparing for the future

Most students pack their whole lives in a suitcase in preparation for college, but fail to mentally prepare for their life-long journey of independence. It can come and be gone so quickly so always make the first decisions wise ones because some of those you can't take back and they remain on your brain forever with a thought of regret. Yet nobody's perfect, but you do always have a choice in your own life; that sometimes later define your destiny..No one plans for failure; but failing to plan can be a definite downfall...
