Data Brokers are just as important as compilers for a variety of reasons - specifically the reason for data brokers is that a broker can discern the pros and cons of each compiler and also has more flexibility with the minimum and additional costs. Brokers can often times reduce your overall cost or help you uncover options not available to a particular compiler.

The main reason that people have a problem with list brokers is that there are bad list brokers just like there are OK compilers. Some compilers charge more to retail customers and will not have options or specific things that are required that a broker can find.

Brokers are an important part of the data food chain and should be consulted just as often as compilers, if not more. I guarantee you will never talk to the owner of a compiler but you can with a little luck speak with the owner of a list brokerage and get their honest opinion about a specific request.
