Many folks in the world today constantly struggle with sweaty armpits and excessive sweating. In fact over 1 million people in the US alone find themselves suffering from "Hyperhidrosis" or overactive sweat glands. After suffering with this problem for over 20 years myself, here are some of the ways I was able to minimize the embarrassment of sweaty armpits and hyperhidrosis on a day to day basis, before eventually curing my sweating problem for good.
Concentrate on clothing:
Probably the most embarrassing effect sweaty armpits have are the very obvious stains and patches they leave on our clothes. If you have the problem of visible sweat rings on the underarm seams of your shirts, a simple method is disguising them by wearing darker colored lightweight fabric. This first of all helps prevent sweat triggering by being lightweight, but if you do start to sweat, it's a lot harder to tell when wearing dark blues, browns and blacks.
Another tip is to wear looser fitting clothing. When our clothes are tight on our bodies they tend to not allow for adequate ventilation and they retain heat - in turn causing sweating. A loose fitting shirt (especially around the underarms) will allow your armpits to breathe and minimize the amount you will sweat.
Keep Cool:
Our sweat glands tend to go into overdrive when our bodies heat up past the point of temperature comfort. If you find yourself beginning to sweat, try and find a cool dry place to stand in for a short time, normally a bathroom or air conditioned shop are great go-to places. If you splash some cold water on your forehead you will also instantly cool your overall body temperature.
Don't Stress:
Stressing exemplifies sweating. If you find yourself sweating and start to panic or get nervous about people noticing, you are likely to sweat more and create a viscous cycle. Sweating is controlled by our central nervous system and being anxious will kick it into high gear. Try to stay calm and find somewhere cool to take time out as above.
Know your triggers:
Taking note of the times you sweat and in particular what situations can give great clues on how to manage your sweating. Discreetly write down when you sweat the most and take note of the situation, temperature and environment. What have you recently eaten? For me spicy food tended to put my sweaty armpits into overdrive, so I learned to eat more mild food in the company of others and save my favorite curries etc for the comfort of my own air-conditioned home.
Get Help Online:
You don't have to go straight to the surgeon's office if you realize you have hyperhidrosis or excessive armpit sweating. There are many great products sold discreetly online that can work wonders and cure your sweating problem for good. I was able to cure my sweaty armpits completely after purchasing a book that contained instructions on an easily made home remedy, which took care of the problem within 2 weeks. There are also some great websites that go into great detail on understanding why we sweat and how to combat it.
Whatever you do, realize you don't have to put up with sweaty armpits and overactive sweat glands. It can be managed easily by utilizing the tips I have outlined above and can be cured altogether in an easy and non-expensive manner.
