We're all online to generate an income. You create a product or find a product created by somebody else and then you offer it to your customers, your subscribers, and a certain percentage of those subscribers will purchase it. But in order to get to that position, it is vitally important that you generate traffic, and as you gain experience, you will be able to predict how many visitors you can generate to your website.
Now, let's say you are a beginner and at the moment you are generating just 10 to 20 visitors per day. That's not bad by the way. Most website owners generate 0 visitors to their site.
Now, what would that be like for you if you can double or even triple that number? It would mean that you could increase your sales, gain more confidence online and begin to focus on backend products. Now, the best way I know of generating traffic is to test. Test two, three or even four different methods at the same time and choose the one, two or three methods that bring in the most subscribers.
So what would I suggest you test?
1. The most powerful way to generate good, quality traffic to your site on a regular basis is to create articles. If you create articles that are compelling, with a good headline and informative content and a very good, inspirational bio, you will begin to see the numbers of visitors to your website improve.
2. Advertising in e-zines is another good method of generating traffic. The visitors that come from e-zines fit into your niche, and they are already subscribers to an e-zine. These visitors are eager to find additional information on your specific topic. If you get involved with e-zine advertising, it is very important that you create an ad that is compelling and entices the reader to visit your website. This is not the place for you to try and sell your products.
3. GoogleAds or AdWords. I have used Google AdWords in the past for a few of my advertising campaigns, and although it might prove costly, the ads did produce visitors. However, I find that the visitors are not very responsive to my offers and are only interested in obtaining freebies. Nonetheless, you should test Google AdWords against all your other methods of generating visitors to see which method pulls the best.
4. Other traffic-generating methods for you to test include safe lists, ad swaps, joint ventures or traffic exchanges.
When you are monitoring the traffic generated from these methods, it is important that you also look at the quality of subscriber being produced by these methods. Over time you will begin to see that one traffic generating method is better than another.
