Computer gaming is probably one of the most misunderstood endeavors in modern American Society. Often, folks will classify those who spend time playing video games as rejects of society, but I think you might be quite surprised to learn otherwise. And to classify computer gamers as nerds or lesser in any way is utterly ridiculous, not to mention completely absurd.
While most people are trying to figure out the reason for life, for many people they are completely baffled just trying to figure out the philosophy of computer gaming. Why do humans like to play games so much? Well this is nothing new really, humans have been playing games for tens of thousands of years probably more but that is all the record and written history that we have.
When designing a computer game, the new computer gamer wants something that is realistic, difficult, exciting and challenges their reflexes. A game that sucks just does not get you so involved in what's going on that you forget about time and the real world, but a high-quality game will.
Perhaps, this is a way of getting away from the world or an electronic version of alcohol? Computer gaming is as addicting as many substances, psychologists agree.
Whether you are an expert computer gamer or you design computer games you need to understand the philosophy behind computer gaming and why people like it and what turns them on. Humans have always liked the challenge, where they can test their skills. Please consider this when you take up the challenge.
