Just for a few minutes I want to get a little bit fluffy about iMindMap and I want to do that because it will help me show you why you should seriously consider downloading the free trial and checking this excellent Mind Mapping software out.
Everyone has a brain - that is a given. But does everyone know how to use it properly? Studies into the grey matter between our ears date back as far as the early 19th century so clearly it has been a topic of huge interest. However have we really capitalized on what information has come to light?
I am sure you will agree with me that no two people think in the same way. Everyone has patterns of thinking that are unique to them. However what is common to everyone is the way the brain is structured and to a certain extent the way the information is stored and processed.
We think in core ideas, images and emotions and we use the rigid structure of our language in its spoken and written forms to communicate those ideas. Our education and upbringing teaches us the structure and format of our native tongue and we then translate our ideas from our mind into that form so we can communicate them with others.
This is all well and good but what is coming to light is that because we are taught to communicate through sentences and paragraphs we naturally assume it is the best way to try and structure and organize our thinking. Unfortunately this is not generally the case but Mind Mapping however has been shown to be much closer to the way we naturally think.
Studies done at the beginning of this century identified that using pictures or diagrams to help explain or illustrate a collection of ideas gave a boost to long term recall of as much as a 10% improvement. This meant the information was around for much longer making it available for deeper processing and as a result a better quality of thinking.
So now that the fluffy bit is over, let's get back on to the relevance of iMindMap to all of this.
Well imagine having a tool that mapped out the ideas you have in your brain in the way the brain naturally stores and organizes them and then being able to show others that map. Because they have a brain with the same inner workings as you - that means your map is going to be more user-friendly to them once you have explained what it means. This is exactly what iMindMap does.
iMindMap is a great Mind Map software at its core but it also has a wide range of additional functions and add-ons that make it a very powerful tool to help you capitalize on your thinking and share that with others if you wish. The most important point to remember about iMindMap is that it allows you to map your thoughts out visually making thinking far more effective.
iMindMap comes in 4 different variants and each has increasing levels of functionality as you go from iMindMap Elements through the Professional version and then through to iMindMap Ultimate and Ultimate Plus. The choice you make really depends on your budget and what you want to use the software for.
All of the versions allow you to tap into the incredible potential your brain has to offer. iMindMap elements is perfect for students who want to take better notes, generate more comprehensive essays and term papers but take much less time and improve their problem solving abilities. All of this is possible with the great software design but also because they will use a powerful brain friendly thinking process, i.e. Mind Mapping.
iMind Map Professional starts to include functionality and features that people working in a company or in their own business are more likely to use. The features still rest on the powerful Mind Mapping concept but now there are more additional tools to use. These include things like a limited integration with Microsoft Office.
If you want to go to the gold-plated version then iMindMap Ultimate is the version for you. This is not just for Mind Mapping power uses but for people who have further functional needs than that provided by iMindMap Professional. This version is especially useful for people who are engaged in things like project management, creating and delivering presentations and who want a full integration with MS Office or iWork.
Regardless of which version of iMindMap you choose, you will take your thinking up a level or two (or three or more!) and you will start to see improvements in your thinking performance and benefits such as an increase in productivity saving you precious time and probably reducing your stress levels too.
