Roger C. Parker is a best-selling author, coach, and consultant who helps others write books, find new readers, and sell more books. He encourages everyone to develop their writing skills: "Writing is everyone's second job!" His own 38 books have sold over 1.6 million copies in 36 languages around the world. Although best known as the author of several best-selling nonfiction books, like the New York Times-praised Looking Good in Print: A Guide to Basic Design for Desktop Publishing and the original Microsoft Office for Windows for Dummies series, Roger is a teacher at heart. He "teaches" from several platforms, including his Published & Profitable website and blog, where he shares his experiences planning, writing, promoting, and profiting from books. His goal is to help other authors avoid some of the mistakes he's made, while encouraging others to approach writing as a business. "You can't just 'write' a book, you have to Plan, Write, Promote, and Profit from it!" Roger "teaches" and consults with clients online, using screen sharing, webinar technology. He has presented webinars for numerous firms, including Microsoft, Mindjet, and Lormer Educational Services. His consulting and copywriting experiences include Apple, Hewlett-Packard, Lexmark, and Yamaha. He has frequently presented on various retail marketing topics at the International Consumer Electronics Shows. Roger's various websites reflect his strong beliefs about writing and graphic design. Roger puts the emphasis on structure and process, rather than “creativity.” He believes that writing is a learnable set of habits and skills that can be mastered by using the right tools and studying others who have succeeded. The dozens of assessments, worksheets, and mind mapping templates at Published and Profitable reflect his philosophy of "doing" rather than "waiting for inspiration to strike." Roger's passion is to break complex tasks, like writing a book or marketing a business, into a series of easy to accomplish steps, or tasks. His clients often refer to him as "The Great Simplifier." Roger has learned from the best. He has conducted over 250 teleseminar interviews with best-selling nonfiction authors and marketing leaders for Published & Profitable and the Guerrilla Marketing Association. He's interviewed leading authors like Jay Conrad Levinson, Seth Godin, Guy Kawasaki, Harry Beckwith, Sarah Susanka, Dan Ariely, Richard Bolles, and others.
