Very early in his involvement with Trigeminal Neuralgia, Dr. Berkel realized that there were feelings of deep frustration in the medical community in managing neuropathic pain, and feelings of hopelessness on the part of those sufferering from this scourge.

Dr. Berkel realized that there had to be a better approach, so in 1997 he set out earnestly to find it. Over these many years, he has helped thousands of Post Herpetic Neuralgia and Trigeminal Neuralgia sufferers achieve a better quality of life, and many have become totally pain free.

On November 12, 2004 at the 5th National Conference of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association in Orlando Florida, Dr. Berkel gave a timely presentation on "A New Approach To Post Herpetic Neuralgia - For Getting Well Again."

Dr. Berkel was invited to be on a panel of Alternative Medicine experts, to research and plan the development of programs for the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association.

Dr. Berkel has developed the topical analgesic "PainBreak," which has brought relief to thousands of Trigeminal Neuralgia sufferers. He continues to actively research new products and modalities for managing this problem

Boyce N. Berkel, MD, PhD is a graduate of Jeffersom Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pensylvania. He worked as a full time Emergency Physician for 23 years, during which time he also developed an expertise in Alternative Medicine. In 1981 he earned a doctorate degree in Nutrition from Donsbach University School of Nutrition in Huntington Beach, California. Since 1997, Dr. Berkel has worked tirelessly to help, and find solutions for, those afflicted with Neuropathic Pain, and has made very significant progress in short term relief of the pain and in the long term management, reduction and elimination of the pain.
